Q & A about 2010 KCAI alumni directory
Dear KCAI alumni,
KCAI is working with Harris Connect in producing an alumni directory scheduled for publication in August 2010. Harris is the country’s leading publisher of college alumni directories.
You may have already been contacted by Harris, and over the next several months, you may receive postcards, emails or phone calls from them asking for updated contact information. All updates are returned to Kansas City Art Institute so that our database remains current.
Harris Connect is only collecting information for purposes of the directory. Our contract with them prohibits your contact information from being released or sold to any third parties.
You decide whether or not your personal information is published in the directory-make your wishes clear to the representative with whom you speak. It is a great way to stay connected to the Kansas City Art Institute alumni community!
Here are answers to some of the questions you may have:
Question: What if I do not want to participate or be contacted any further?
Answer: Each correspondence from Harris offers the option of being removed from the contact list. Please simply exercise this option if you wish to be removed.
Question: Does KCAI profit from my purchasing a directory?
Answer: No. The purchase transaction would be between the alumnus or alumna and Harris Connect. The directory is being published as a service to alumni so that you have the opportunity to purchase it if you so choose. A free-of-charge KCAI alumni online directory will be made available this spring.
Question: Can I update my information and be listed even if I don’t purchase a directory?
Answer: Yes.
Question: May I send the information requested directly to the alumni relations office?
Answer: No, please respond to Harris Connect directly, as they are collecting and organizing all of the information for the directory.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you!
About the directory. I have received three notices from them. I have answered all three telling them that I am living abroad and do not want to call. I would like my information to be collected either by email or by regular mail. They will not respond. Any suggestions? I would like to be included.
Thanks,
Carol (Kinyon) Feldman class of 1973
